Heavenly Hay-on-Wye
A big part of the annual fundraiser I established in 2014, Schnauzerfest, is the national online raffle. Over the 4 years that we’ve been running Schnauzerfest the raffle alone has raised over £9000, with every penny going towards helping dogs saved from puppy farms and other dreadful situations. The unquestioned success of the Schnauzerfest raffle lies in the number and quality of prizes which we’re lucky enough to have donated. And of course, the resulting huge number of ticket sales. It’s a reflection of the true goodwill demonstrated every year by those supporting what we do with Schnauzerfest and desire to help dogs in need.
One of the most sought-after prizes each year is a 3 night stay in a luxury, dog-friendly B&B located in beautiful Hereford. The Agent’s House is owned and run by Schnauzerfest supporters Alison and Steve and their love for dogs shows in the friendliness and welcome given to visitors and their four legged friends.
It’s been a delight over the past few days seeing the lucky 2017 winner of the Schnauzerfest raffle prize, Jan, enjoying the location and walks surrounding the accomodation with her dogs Dexter, Dolly and Wilf.
Here’s a taste of why this particular Schnauzerfest raffle prize is so desirable:

Aside from the natural pleasures all dogs would get from a holiday break like this, for Jan’s dogs it’s extra special when we know that Wilf and Dolly spent years in puppy farms. Without the help of good rescuers and many kind people, their lives would be very different indeed. It’s similar with Alison and Steve’s dogs too, all adopted, all helped greatly by the dedication of many kind individuals. You can read a little about one of their boys, Trevor here, written shortly after his adoption over a year ago.
I’ll leave you with Jan’s words on her visit this week, and thank Alison and Steve for donating such a terrific prize each year to the Schnauzerfest raffle and to everyone who supports and cares enough to buy tickets. This year’s Schnauzerfest raffle will be open sometime in September so be sure to follow us here and social media.
Without doubt the best holiday cottage I’ve stayed in. Such attention to detail and VERY dog-friendly. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Whitney-on-Wye is gorgeous as is the weather. The dogs are having a wonderful time
