Memorial Walk Video – bet you’ll smile (with tears)
Susie-Belle’s Memorial Walk a couple of weeks ago, saw over 100 dogs and their human companions turn out on a cold wintry day to celebrate Susie-Belle’s life at West Wittering beach.
It was a day that touched many, like her life and story. It also, through everyone’s generosity raised over £1600 plus many gifts were sent to DBARC from her Wish List (which is still open).
We were very lucky indeed to have a kind, creative offer to record this short video of the day. Thank you to Tamara Panchen and Charley Surrage for this moving tribute to our special, never-forgotten Susie-Belle. I’m sure, like me, you’ll watch it with mixed emotions.
There were many dogs in attendance, who, like Susie-Belle have known great suffering in the puppy breeding industry, but who now enjoy happy lives, safely loved. Amongst them, were many other lucky dogs like Renae, who have never known anything but kindness. The walk celebrated all dogs, and there really is no more fitting tribute to Susie-Belle than seeing the abundant joy of all the dogs that day, whatever their past has involved.
Thank you to everyone who was able to come along, to others around the country and indeed abroad, who walked in her memory that day, and everyone who supports us in whatever way and wants to see an end to the industry that harms so many dogs like Susie-Belle. One day it will end. Together we will make it.
I’ve been asked if we might make it an annual event. And yes, I think we will. Susie-Belle Memorial Day – walking for dogs everywhere. More details on that in future, for now I hope you enjoy the video:
