We had a later walk this morning than usual, I decided to feed the girls first, a tasty start to their day with half a juicy fat quail each. We brought a whole bunch of these birds home from France last month and saved them in the freezer for special times, like this week when we’re home alone.

So, off we popped out around 8 o’clock and only managed to catch a couple of our early morning friends heading home as we started. I decided to try out Susie-Belle’s new
Equafleece Tankie as it wasn’t too cold, a chilly wind, but the Tankie did the trick beautifully at keeping her toasty warm.
As we were later, we ended up meeting a new set of straggling dog walkers and there seemed to be a common trait amongst them – they were all a tad on the grumpy side! There was the man with his on-lead German Shepherd who stood and glared at my two noisy girls as I put them on their leads and didn’t acknowledge my efforts at being a responsible owner by keeping the girls away from his growly big guy; then there was the woman with the Jack Russell who jauntily came over to play with the girls whilst she steadfastly stomped off in the opposite direction ignoring her dog, me and my beautiful babies, how unfriendly. Then there was the chap with a beautiful, big golden retriever who Susie-Belle took a fancy to, he stayed busy on his mobile phone and continued walking away across the field without turning a hair at the fact his dog and Susie-Belle were having a playful five minutes. Oh well, his loss as he didn’t get to see how happy his dog was to have met my angel Susie-Belle this morning.
It was a good job that we met the lovely Welsh lady with her gorgeous cockers Lily, Betty and Dolly, who we occasionally meet. We had a chat about her girls and mine, her lovely Lily is from a puppy-farm background although she didn’t know it when she bought her. Typically, Lily has health problems including being completely blind due to PRA, another casualty of the hideous puppy farm industry. Still, the morning ended well with the dogs all having a romp together. Tomorrow I’ll be sure to go out at our more usual time as the early birds amongst our local dog walking crowd are definitely a friendlier bunch.

thats very unfortunate there were a bunch of unfriendly people. i dont like people not being involved in watching their dogs behavior, especially in public places. what i really dont like is owners thinkng it okay for their dogs to walk around their home and neighborhood loose, because somehow they always find my dogs. 🙁
Yep, my pet hates too, people on phones whilst ignoring their dogs, it’s not fair on the dogs as a walk should be about bonding, can’t happen if the phone’s the thing being bonded with.
It’s this type of behaviour that stopped us going to dog parks – ignorant people that have no interest in what their dog is doing – even if it wreaking the fun of others!!
Susie-Belle looks lovely and warm in her coat!

I’m sorry that you ran into grumps!

It’s a shame that those folks weren’t friendlier. They don’t know what they’re missing!
We’ve signed on as followers and would love if if you can stop by sometime!

It really gets me down too when people don’t want to be polite – I stand there with my tail wagging so hoping for them to at least say hello to me and feel so sad when they just ignore me completely. Luckily most of the dog walkers we meet in the village are friendly and our neighbours love to say hello 🙂 Really like your warm coat too Susie-Belle – woofs & licks from Magic xx
