Two years on
Susie-Belle’s rabies booster jab was due yesterday which means it’s two years since I took her the first time to our vet. I remember the day perfectly as it was her first big day out, she was still being fostered at Janet’s and Janet let me take her out for the day on a schnauzer walk at Norbury Park. We combined that with the vet visit and rabies jab so we could get her Pet Passport all started in time for when she came home to us and would be off travelling to France.
I can hardly believe that was two years ago. It also means that it is two years since she had her cataract surgery as that was done a couple of days after she’d been out for the day with us.
Two amazing years we’ve now had together, although she never officially came to live here till the end of August 2011, from the first day out, I saw her as very much our Susie-Belle, in fact even before that if I’m honest I thought of her as ours, even if it wasn’t official.
On another level, it seems like she has always been here. Our lives have merged so smoothly, we have all bonded so completely, it does seem like it’s always been.
I’m not being very good at the moment keeping up with the blog as I am in the last two weeks or so now of completing writing the book. My deadline with the publisher is the end of July, but we’ll be heading out to France before that, so I need to have it completed in the next couple of weeks. So apologies, I miss telling you guys all about our days and will return to regular posts once the book is off at the publishers.
Hope everyone’s dogs are enjoying some great times, more from us soon.
