Wrapped In Love – what could be nicer?
Wrapped In Love is an original US concept: a group of artisans and crafters who make and donate blankets to animal rescues. I’ve been a supporter of their brilliant work for a while and am delighted that the UK Wrapped In Love mission is now underway. WIL is all about making, doing, sharing, oh and loving animals along the way. It is so up-my-street it couldn’t be better, only, I’m not a practical type at all, can’t make a thing, but I can and am getting behind the rest of the skilled crafters and will help out in other ways.
WIL describe themselves as:
a kind of family of artisans and crafters that just happen to love cats, dogs and all animals. We simply have the WIL “to do something”. We know what our something is. We wrap the dogs, cats and their rescuers in love.
A simple, beautiful concept that works. And works well. In the US over 5000 blankets have been made and donated and the number grows all the time.
How it works is that blankets are made by members, crocheted, knitted, sewn, no-sewn fleeces are made, quilted, all kinds of creativity is welcome. They’re made for the current rescue that’s been chosen and when done, donated straight to the rescue. Rescues are always desperate for blankets and coats for the animals in their care, it’s a welcome, wonderful gift they receive each time, one made with love and given from the heart. This is such a simple, kind but effective idea, I’d really like to see the UK mission do as well as the original US one.
WIL WORKS BECAUSE THE MEMBERS WORK FROM THE HEART. We move from rescue to rescue doing only good, sharing, and helping rescued dogs, cats, the rescuers and each other.
If you’d like to get involved with the UK group, and please, please do if you are even remotely able to stitch, knit or crochet, they are working now with their first rescue and need volunteers to get making blankets. To join the WIL family, follow this link.
