Pigeon wing anyone?
Whilst I was away over the weekend, Susie-Belle was in the comforting and kind hands of Michel, who, although very lovely in all ways is not renowned in this house for any sharp-eyed attention to detail or close monitoring of situations – he’s far too laid back a chap to worry about details, he leaves that to me.
But, I trust him to look after my girls……I do really, yes honestly I do.
It would appear however that Susie-Belle decided not to take any chances over him possibly overlooking her tummy and forgetting to feed her. On their Saturday morning walk, she managed to find herself something rather rich and gamey, just in case supper was neglected.
By all accounts, she trotted up to him with a pigeon wing clamped in her mouth. He has no idea where she managed to get it, although he did let her out of his sight (gulp, gulp, glad I didn’t know that till now) while she was snooping under a bush and he walked on, leaving her to forage for herself.
He says that she gave it up easily when she’d brought it over to him, that I am surprised at. Maybe she was hoping he’d take it home and poach it in a cream sauce for her.
