Did Somebody Say Walk?
I’m delighted to announce that my second children’s book is now completed. Well, I say mine, I should really say OUR book as for the second time, I’ve teamed up with illustrator Annabel Wilson who has done most of the work! What we’ve created together is a picture book celebration of dogs favourite pastime – walks!
Featuring in the book are dogs of all kinds, from young to old, large to small, each brought to expert, glorious life by Annabel. It’s been a lot of hard work, as well as fun, to get it completed in time for the launch, which is this Sunday at the Diana Brimbelcombe Animal Rescue Centre.
It will be the second book we’ve had the pleasure of launching there, Saving Maya was just two years ago.
Like my other books, ‘Did Somebody Say Walk’ aims to encourage awareness about the welfare of dogs, the joys of having them in our lives and how we can help them to have the best lives possible. Aimed at our youngest audience yet, Annabel and I hope we can play a part in sowing seeds of empathy in readers and future puppy buyers with our work.
And the greatest thing? We’re able to donate all proceeds from sales of the book to the Schnauzerfest Fund. This has been made possible through the generous donation of materials and securing of professional typesetting and printing by a wonderful Schnauzerfest supporter, who wishes to remain anonymous.
Following Sunday’s launch the book will be available to order directly from Schnauzerfest and will be shipped worldwide.
