If You Do This One Simple Thing You Can Change Lives
So many times we wonder what we can do to make a difference to dogs. For us to have any impact on the puppy industry seems so daunting. But, here’s one simple thing that might just stop someone buying a puppy in a pet shop, or from an online ad, or supporting the cruel puppy farming business in any way at all. Use your vote. Not for a politician or a political party – well, do that too when you get the chance – but this coming week, please use your vote for Saving Maya to help the book win the children’s People’s Book Prize.
If the book wins, and it will only do so if you use your vote for Saving Maya, it will really help to push the story of puppy farm dog Maya, out to a whole new audience. The publicity the prize brings will ensure that readers who might never think about picking up a book about puppy farming and animal rescue, will be intrigued enough to see why others voted it a winner. We’ve only got to this stage through the kind votes of many readers. But we’d dearly love for Saving Maya to make that final leap from finalist to winner. So, we must make a special plea for you to use your vote for Saving Maya when voting opens on 15th May.
For every reader that gets to know sisters Maya and Willow, there’s a great chance that they’ll remember their story and Maya’s background in the puppy farm if they ever decide to bring a dog into their lives. Stories read when we’re young stay with us well into the future. This is how Saving Maya can make a difference to dogs. YOU can make a difference by voting.
Voting opens on Monday 15th May but you can register now, just hang onto your password that you’ll be sent by email once you’ve registered. If you’ve forgotten it from the previous round of voting, please register again saying you’ve lost your password and it will be resent.
