Chilly Tuesday
Brrrr, today’s a chilly one in Surrey. The girls spend Tuesday mornings at Bruce’s so we don’t usually take them for a long walk beforehand as I don’t want them turning up tired at the daycare place, but this morning was such a beautiful one, we couldn’t resist going the long way round the frosty fields.
The sky had the most delicate, peaceful pink hue as the sun came up, it was such a good tonic to be outdoors to start the day. There’s something magical that happens to Renae and Susie-Belle when the ground’s frosty, Jasmine was the same so maybe it’s a dog-thing, but the crispy cold ground gives them an extra little energy boost and they almost skipped the whole way round the route, only stopping for sniffs, pees and to allow each other to catch up. Or maybe they’re just trying to keep their feet off the cold earth!
The flaxseed oil arrived yesterday and it’s in such a gorgeous looking bottle, it looks more like something I’d use in the bath than give the girls to eat. I’ve decided to add it to Renae’s food as well as Susie-Belle’s as she does get a few little hotspots on her skin and it can only be good for her in the long term. I’ve got high hopes that with a good mixture of flaxseed, fish oils and viacutan – all correctly dosed – we’ll have good news on SusieB’s eyes in March. Even if it doesn’t tackle the KCS effectively, it’ll be helping her overall wellbeing, skin and hair.
