Limping Susie-Belle
Susie-Belle has developed a limp over the past day or so. We think that she might have given herself an injury yesterday morning as she took us by surprise and jumped out of the back of the car when we arrived at the woods. Normally she waits to be lifted out – she does like her cuddles and carries these days, so any excuse.
She was fine on the actual walk, showed no signs of stiffness or lameness. But last night she didn’t want to weightbear on it at all and this morning is hobbling good and proper. It hasn’t however stopped her hanging round the kitchen on 3 legs whilst lunch was being prepared earlier.
We’re travelling home on Sunday so we had to go to the vet for the usual Pet Passport visit and he’s given us some anti-inflammatories for a few days in the hope this will deal with it. He had a good examination of her and said he can feel the hip clicking but there’s nothing broken – I hadn’t even thought that it might be that bad, so glad he checked!
She’s just been taken her dinner, lying in her bed to avoid her having to move too much – it wasn’t planned, but you know she just gave me that pleading little look she has perfected, so I didn’t think dinner in bed just this once would hurt.
