The woods in spring…at last
The weather has been so depressing, for weeks now we’ve had endless cold and lots of rain. We are in France at the moment and normally this time of year it is warm in the day, the leaves and blossoms and flowers are all coming out and everywhere is beautiful. Not this year. It’s been cold here too like the UK. Maybe they have had a few brighter warmer days, but everything is very behind in the garden.
Usually if we go to the woods this time of year here, the green leaves are just starting to come through and the leafy canopy is in its early stages. This morning we took the girls early and were surprised at how autumnal, even wintry the woods still look. But at least there is a bit of sun this afternoon now and the week ahead does look better, but honestly, we’ve now had enough gloom. Thank heavens the dogs are happy, so long as it’s not raining.
