Two special girls in Hastings
As well as the fun camping we did at the weekend, one of the other great joys for us was meeting Darcie again. Darcie has a similar background to Susie-Belle, she’s come from a hell-hole puppy farm and now lives on the south coast with her wonderful owners Mel and Kathleen. Darcie hasn’t yet learnt to enjoy touch at all and won’t be cuddled or stroked the poor poppet, so it was a pleasure seeing her enjoy being around the dogs yesterday and her and Susie-Belle helped each other along, probably sharing schnauzery chats understood only by them.

Susie-Belle has come on so much in the 10 months that she’s been with us, but it takes a lot of patience to allow her to do things at her pace and to grow and flourish in lots of small steady ways. I’m certain that with Kathleen and Mel, Darcie will continue to relax and grow in confidence and will soon be allowing herself to enjoy life more than she worries about it.
