Eyes and a tummy that’s bigger than it should be
We had our regular visit this morning to the eye vet, it’s been three months since we last went and we had some good news. Susie-Belle’s dry-eye (KCS) is doing well, the tear production seems to have stabilised now for the past several months which is great news. I have been reducing her medication slightly and on some days I just apply the cream once a day not twice, I was a little anxious this may have affected her results today, so was especially pleased all was good.
She has been taking Ocuglow for the past few months which is a supplement that her foster mum, Janet has sourced from the US. It is rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, which have been shown to be beneficial in cases of KCS and other eye conditions. It’s not cheap, but is worth every penny if it helps Susie-Belle and having researched the ingredients, I’m very happy to keep her on it.
We still haven’t got to the bottom of Susie-Belle’s balding patches and her round waistline (although that may be due to her great and greedy love of food and my weakness in the denial department) so we’ve just had a thyroid check done to rule out any problems there. We should have the results tomorrow.
We have a beach walk planned for Sunday, that will be Twinkle-Berry’s first day out with us and first ever beach day, so we’re hoping that today’s rain clears and we have a dry Sunday. Both Susie-Belle and Renae adore the days at the beach that we manage to get to. Only wished we lived a bit closer, although if we did, we’d probably never go anywhere else, or ever manage to do any work.
