Fruit surprise
I plan on making some fruit purees and freezing them into ice cube trays for a bit of a fruity surprise on hot afternoons. But so far, I haven’t got myself organised to be in the least creative – I’m blaming the heat – so in the meantime we’ve found a simple, healthy, low fat snack to refresh and cool Susie-Belle – frozen banana. I put slices in the freezer and when she’s feeling a little warm and panty, there’s nothing she enjoys more than crunching on these little frozen treats, bit like an crisp refreshing sorbet but without the calories. Simple and effective,
On the other hand, Renae only occasionally eats a slice, but what we’ve found she loves (as does Susie-Belle, but what doesn’t she like to eat) is melon. Watermelon seems to be a favourite although fragrantly sweet cubes of cantaloupe have been slipping down easily too.
Today is one of those afternoons crying out for some cool watermelon. W hope you’re enjoying some sunshine too.
