It is a real scorcher, no messing about with a bit warm, it’s boiling
It’s not often we get to say it in England, but today is a very, hot, hot, hot day in the south today. It’s steaming in fact. Too hot to be outside. We’re feeling the need for wooden shutters like we have on the windows in France, only we don’t have them here, we have carpets and small rooms, perfect for keeping us cosy in the winter, terrible for keeping us cool on the handful of hot days we get a year.
But, we are not complaining, it’s gorgeous to be able to flop about in our flip flops and summer dresses, well me, not the girls, they are flopping round on their cool beds. Michel is away in France so we’re home alone, taking it easy.
The sliced watermelon has been served early today, frozen, straight out of the freezer, just what the girls needed to cool off after a warm morning sleeping. Renae and Susie-Belle had an early morning grooming session ready for the Funday tomorrow, Twinkle had hers done last week. We’ll be setting off early tomorrow to get a good, cool spot under the trees by the river. This was the collies enjoying a dip last year….
