Lambs bits and pieces
We just got back from a trip to the supermarket and I spotted something new for Susie-Belle’s supper tonight. Thinking I knew what the French for lamb’s kidney was – rognon d’agneau – I picked up a packet of what I thought were little round kidneys.
At the checkout, Michel remarked, oh she’ll like those good choice. Oh she has kidneys at home I say, but she hasn’t had any since we’ve been here. These aren’t kidneys, he says, they’re rognon blanc d’agneau, yes, rognon, kidney I say, beginning to doubt my mastery of French culinary vocabulary.
Have you ever seen white kidneys he asks. What a difference a little word like blanc can make.
I’m sure she’s still going to love them, little round balls of taste and deliciousness for Susie-Belle’s supper.

Susie & Bites
Oh my but we agree with Susie and Sidebite it probably tastes good. Are you going to try it? I think that might beat my post today hands down. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Sounds pretty tasty to me too 🙂 woofs and licks from Magic xx
Saw Goats Kidney at a Farmers Market yesterday and wasn’t sure if I should buy them for Rodders – wish I had now!
Rodders should definitely, definitely have had some to try, they’d have made him very very happy 🙂 And Molly, yep, we tried them, grilled not raw though, actually nice and tasty, a bit peppery!
