Rainy day games
Waiting patiently for her pancake |
Well we shared our pancakes last night with the girls, Renae was nonchalant about them, but Susie-Belle was one delighted angel, she loved every lip-smacking morsel we gave her and would still be eating them now if we had kept making them. I have to admit that I gave her the lemon and sugar version, half thinking she’d turn her little nose up at the citrus, but wow, she lapped them up. I had given her just the teeniest piece of loin of pork earlier to allow room for her sweet treat and today we’ve all been on portion control. Not sure we’ll make her wait till next year’s Pancake Day for a repeat treat, but we won’t make them too often!
This afternoon’s been wet so we’ve skipped our afternoon walk and played indoors instead. Renae is a master games player and is always looking to get one of us to join in with whatever game she rustles up, some are more fun than others. I like the “tug-o-war” but don’t do it too often and “throw-the-soft-toy-fetch” is ok for a bit but can be tedious after a while, although Renae never tires of it. I skip joining in with “dig the garden with our noses and bring it indoors”, and I’m never too enthused by “let’s flick the stinky tripe stick around for half an hour before eating it” but Renae loves that one and can entertain herself for ages with it. Sometimes Susie-Belle humours her sister and gets into the spirit of a game, one of her favourites (and Renae’s) is a simple game of mouthy-wrestle. I usually opt out of this one as they’re better at it than me, I just don’t have the teeth – or courage – for it. I caught them on video coming to the end of half an hour of it:
