Renae’s hotpants
Well life here continues to keep us busy, Susie-Belle is enjoying getting out and about in her buggy each day, in fact she’s enjoying it so much, I can see she’ll be missing it when the time comes to walk on all four paws again, hopefully in less than two months.

She’s doing well in terms of healing as far as I can tell, she’s gently weight bearing and hopping a little less. We have a vet check on Monday so we’ll see what the expert view is but I’m hopeful we’re on track for a full recovery.
Renae’s hernia repair is proving a little troublesome, although she appears completely unfazed by it. She has developed a significant swelling around the incision, which thankfully is not infected but it appears to be filled with blood and lymph and needs a bit of compression to assist its reduction. Trouble is, on a tummy, its not the easiest place for comfortable compression in terms of dressing, so yesterday, the vet gave us a rather fetching wardrobe item to see if it helps her…..
She is not terribly impressed, she is after all a dog that hates wearing a coat in the cold and pouring rain, let alone this snug little body shaping vest. We think she looks very sweet and are trying not to laugh at her indignant face when it goes on first thing. This morning, the swelling does seem to have reduced, so with luck, her indignation will be worthwhile when we head back for a check-up on Monday.
The other major event that has occupied us this past week, aside from the niggling health issues we’re a little plagued by, was a very fun day on Wednesday with a photographer who came to take some pictures of Susie-Belle in preparation for her book launch. It was a giggle, we had a lot of silly fun posing and posturing, strutting round, temporarily inhabiting a world far away from our normal peaceful routines. With luck, in a week or so we’ll be able to share more news with you on this and where to see some of the photos.
Hope everyone has a good weekend, we have some weak sunshine here right now so plan on making the most of a rare, dry and sunny Saturday.
